A total of 48,464 people have received the first dose of the Covid 19 vaccine, and a total of 70,690 vaccines from various manufacturers and platforms have been administered so far The Head of Bosnian Federation (FBiH) entity's Epidemiology Service Sanjin Musa said Tuesday speaking at an online press conference of representatives of the Public Health Institute of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity, the FBiH Ministry of Health, UNICEF and the World Health Organization in BiH, on the occasion of the European Immunization Week 2021.

“According to the information we received from the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, we expect that the process of immunization will intensify in the first weeks of May when we expect the delivery of vaccines through two mechanisms – Covax and the joint procurement of the European Union,” Musa said.

The data from 2020 show that the immunization coverage in children was 30 to 40 percent lower than the target values.
“It’s a fact that should concern us all. Our goal in the period ahead is to intensify the regular immunization program in order to compensate for the shortcomings, ie lower immunization coverage. We want to encourage both paediatricians, health care institutions, paediatric services, to do a patient health card review, and see where the immunizations were missed, and to invite parents to contact their paediatric services to make up for the missed vaccination,” Musa said.
