Bosnia’s best cyclist Lejla Njemcevic won 2nd place at the Mountain Biking World Cup in the marathon discipline held in Ornans, France after suffering a fall.
First place went to the domestic competitor Estelle Morel from France with a time of 4 hours and 11 minutes, while the Italian Claudia Peretti ended up in third place. By winning second place, Njemcevic continued with a series of excellent results this season in World Cup races and scored another 200 UCI points.
Lejla Njemcevic took part in a fall with another competitor at the beginning of the race, i.e. at the eighth kilometre, in which she damaged the bicycle frame, front brake and gearbox. After the fall, she continued the race from a convincing last position, and by the end of the 66-kilometre-long race, she caught up with the competitors and took second place.
