Monday marks the 133 anniversary of Bosnia's National Museum – the oldest scientific-cultural institution in the country, Fena news agency reported.

The National Museum has been fighting for survival for years.

The celebration of February 1, the day the National Museum of BiH was founded, is a traditional event during which a large number of cultural and entertainment content is organized for visitors of all ages.

This year, adhering to all epidemiological measures, the National Museum will organize free entrance to the Sarajevo Haggadah room in two terms (from 12:00 to 1:00 pm and from 6:00 to 7:00 pm) and the grand opening of the exhibition “In the Footsteps of Wild Orchids” at the Department of Natural Sciences, authored by Erman Lagumdzija.

Also, the Museum will organise a grand opening of the exhibition “Break” (Prehah) at the Department of Ethnology, whose authors are Samir Avdic, Lebiba Dzeko, Nirha Efendic, Ernis Sljivo and Lejla Becar.

The exhibition consists of exhibits from ethnology and archaeology that testify to the centuries-old tradition and custom of coffee-drinking and enjoying tobacco in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Due to the obligation to implement epidemiological measures, the entrance to each event will be controlled and limited to a maximum of 30 people, the National Museum said.
