Bosnia's RS entity approves purchase of 240,000 Chinese vaccine doses

The Prime Minister of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity (RS), Radovan Viskovic, said Tuesday that the entity had signed an additional contract with partners from China on the purchase of 240,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines, Anadolu Agency reported.

“The Compensation Fund must hold a session in the next day or two in order for the funds for the purchase of vaccines to be paid,” said Viskovic.

Earlier, the RS Emergency Situations Headquarters authorized the RS Institute of Public Health for the direct procurement of 160,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, for the vaccination of 80,000 people.

The Board of Directors of the RS Compensation Fund approved 8,491,392 Bosnian marks for these purposes. So far, on May 5, 80,000 doses have arrived from this procurement.
