Camil Durakovic elected President of Municipal Assembly in Srebrenica

Representatives in the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly elected Camil Durakovic, a former mayor in the eastern Bosnian town and member of the local coalition of Bosniak parties, to the post of President of the assembly on Wednesday.

Of the 20 representatives present at the constitutive session of the assembly, 12 voted for Durakovic, while eight of them were against him taking over the post.

The session comes after Srebrenica’s Mayor, Mladen Grujicic, and Radomir Pavlovic, the representative of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) in the town, signed a coalition agreement with Bosniak coalition ‘My Address: Srebrenica’ on Tuesday.

Hamdija Fejzic, from the Bosniak coalition, was also reelected to continue serving as Deputy Mayor.
