Coronavirus: Slovenia reports 1,690 new cases and 24 dead

In the past 24 hours 1,690 new coronavirus cases and 24 COVID deaths have been registered in Slovenia, the government said on Tuesday.

In said period, 14,010 tests have been done, with 22.8% of PCR tests and 5.5% of rapid antigen tests coming back positive, the national public health institute said.

The virus reproduction rate has fallen below 1% and the number of active cases is 22,579, with a declining trend, as is the seven-day average of daily infections, which has dropped to 1,352, according to the health ministry.

Currently 1,237 COVID patients are hospitalised, including 183 in intensive care.

The death toll has reached 3,206.
