"I am sure that, if we reached an agreement on the Election Law, relations would be greatly relaxed when it comes to the political crisis, and then we can rightly demand everything that interests us, our candidate status when it comes to the European Union (EU), and many other issues, said Dragan Covic, the leader of the Croat Democratic Party (HDZ BiH) said Wednesday.

After meeting with the director of the European External Action Service Angelina Eichhorst and the senior official of the United States Department of State (US) in charge of electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina Matthew Palmer, Covic said that they informed the guests of the present situation in BiH – the non-functioning of the executive and legislative power at the level of BiH.

“We especially talked about what needs to be resolved regarding their arrival these days and the meetings that will be held in Sarajevo and Neum in order to finally make an agreement and implement the agreement from Mostar concerning the Election Law, which should also implement the verdict of the BiH Constitutional Court and the Strasbourg Court. We must ensure what we call the legitimate representation of constituent peoples, but also make a limited amendment to the Constitution so that all this can be done, as far as possible. Ensure the integrity of the election process,” Covic explained.
