The absolute winner of the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival is the actor and director Juraj Lerotic, whose film 'Safe Place' won the Heart of Sarajevo award for the best film and Lerotic himself was awarded as the leading actor in the same film.

Lerotic's film has the regional premiere at this year's Sarajevo Film Festival, after the world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival.

The best actress is Vicky Krieps for her role in the film ‘Corsage’.

The award for the best director of the 28th SFF has gone to Maryina Er Gorbach for the Ukrainian film ‘Klondike’, Ukraine.

Film ‘Museum of the Revolution’ by Srdjan Kec from Serbia won the award for the best documentary film.

The award ceremony was traditionally held at the Sarajevo National Theatre and the festival will officially close Friday evening with the world premiere of the film ‘Labour Day’ by Bosnian filmmaker Pjer Zalica.

The film director said on that occasion that he was very excited even though he had the opportunity to open the Sarajevo Film Festival several times.

“This is a big festival and we hope that we have a film that meets the level of that festival,” he said.
