Not a single dose of Covid vaccines administered over the past week in Sarajevo was wasted, Ademir Spahic, the pandemic activity coordinator from the Sarajevo Canton told N1 Wednesday, adding that they even administered some vaccines to people outside the priority group so as not to waste the remaining doses. There were also no registered side effects after administering the vaccines.

“We decided to vaccinate the younger patients as well – better than throwing away the [remaining] doses. There weren't many [doses] left. We didn't waste a single dose. We were careful to implement the cold chain,” said Spahic.

The next step, he said, is to vaccinate the employees of the Ministry of Security, following a donation they received from Turkey.

“And then we pray to God that a large number of vaccines comes to us and that we continue with mass immunization. As for the immunization of donated vaccines from Serbia, we administered all the doses. According to the vaccination plan, that was the age group of 75 and over,” he added.

Next in line are the age group from 65 to 75, chronic, oncology and dialysis patients.

He also mentioned citizens who are unable to move, who applied for the vaccination adding that they will be jabbed with the Sinovac vaccine in their homes.

The coordinator emphasized that there were no side effects in those vaccinated so far, and praised the work in the Olympic Hall of Zetra where the vaccination is held.
