The Bosnian Serb member of BiH’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, accused the country’s Foreign Minister, Bisera Turkovic, of damaging the reputation of BiH and trying to produce a “quarrel” with Israel over a demarche she sent to the Israeli Embassy and Foreign Ministry.
In her demarche sent on Tuesday, Turkovic said that the Israeli ambassador expressed support for a “discriminatory” proposal of changes to the election law backed by Bosnian Croat parties and that such a model was rejected by most of the parties in BiH’s Parliament.
According to Dodik, Turkovic, “with her unconstitutional behaviour continues to damage the reputation of BiH on the international scene, produces harm to everyone and tries to quarrel with friendly countries such as Israel”.
Dodik said that Israel “fully supports the BiH Constitution” as well as the concept of constituent peoples in BiH.
“It is important for us to have good relations and cooperation with Israel, and I want to thank the State of Israel for clearly presenting its views and supporting a proper understanding of the situation and relations in BiH,” he said.
