Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, said following a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss in Sarajevo on Thursday that the meeting was a “mere formality” and that he told the UK official her country has “one-sided stances” when it comes to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Dodik, the UK FM “could only notice a divided Presidency,” where Bosniak member Sefik Dzaferovic “is trying to present his speech as a joint stance.”

“I said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a failed state because of the interference of the UK Government as well. She said she was here to defend Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that there is a threat. I am a chief commander of the Armed Forces of BIH and I said everything is peaceful and fine, and NATO also said there are no security threats so she cannot claim she defends someone,” said Dodik.

He also reiterated his stance on High Representative Christian Schmidt, not recognising his legitimacy.

“The British were only creating chaos here. We will continue to work with our partners from China and Russia,” stressed Dodik.

He said he rejected the UK's interference with the internal matters of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that one-sided solutions cannot be accepted.
