Dodik discussed the political situation in Bosnia with Hungary's Viktor Orban

According to the office of BiH tripartite Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, one of the topics of his meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, on Saturday was the political situation in Bosnia and the region.

Orban and eleven of his officials, including Hungary’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Peter Szijjarto, arrived in Laktasi, in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, around noon.

Orban and his delegation met with Dodik and the Prime Minister of Bosnia’s semi-autonomous Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Radovan Viskovic, in a local restaurant in Glamocani.

Dodik, who is the leader of the ruling party in the RS, met with Orban amid a major political crisis in Bosnia.

According to his office, Orban stressed during the meeting that stability and peace in the region of the Western Balkans are important for Hungary and that the emphasis should be on improving relations at all levels, and on economic cooperation.

The two also discussed economic cooperation between the RS and Hungary, Dodik’s office said.
