The Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, said that he “does not care” about the sanctions the United Kingdom introduced against him, arguing that the British “never had good intentions” toward Serbs.

The UK Government has announced the first UK sanctions under the Bosnia and Herzegovina sanctions regime against tripartite BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, as well as the President of the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Zeljka Cvijanovic, for “undermining of the legitimacy and functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

UK sanctions mean that Dodik and Cvijanovic will be unable to travel to the UK or use or access any assets they may have in the UK.

Speaking at a session of the National Assembly of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Dodik said that he does not have any property in the UK and has not visited that country in more than ten years.

“The British have never had good intentions towards Serbs, and it is very well known,” he said.

He then criticised the opposition Party for Democratic Progress (PDP), arguing that it has close connections with representatives of the UK Government.
