As the war is raging in Ukraine, people are fleeing the country in search for a shelter across Europe. According to N1 reporter at Poland-Ukraine border, a total of 922,000 refugees from Ukraine have entered Poland so far, and 139,000 people entered the territory only on Saturday. Unofficially, dozens have arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Currently, there are 68 refugees from Ukraine in Medjugorje, a southern town and one of the most popular Catholic pilgrimage sites, mostly women and children, N1 reports.

Another bus carrying refugees from Ukraine is expected to arrive on Sunday. Although the exact number of refugees that are coming this weekend is still unknown, it is assumed that it will be between 40 and 48. The arrival of more refugees is expected in the coming days.

Two groups arrived yesterday – the first of nine people (two adult women and seven children), and then the second group of 41 people (18 adult women and 23 children), which so far makes a total of 68 people (27 adult women and 41 children). Basic humanitarian support was provided to all persons. They are accommodated in private facilities.

The Red Cross teams of the Čitluk municipality, including a psychologist, visited all the facilities. No injuries have been reported among the refugees, only fatigue, exhaustion, and fear.

The Red Cross of Bosnia's Federation entity will continue to provide support to refugees arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
