Drivers and truckers are protesting in Sarajevo over the increase in fuel prices, demanding the abolition of excise taxes on petroleum.

The protesters stressed that they are currently in a difficult situation because of the big rise in fuel prices, which reached up to 3 Bosnian Marks in recent days. Inspections have shown that even fuel reserves are being sold at these prices which was deemed unacceptable and certain providers have been penalised for it.

The Prime Minister of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, Fadil Novalic, recently proposed the abolishment of the excise tax.

DriverThe BiH Parliament is expected to discuss the issue and to accept the proposal in order to mitigate the consequences of the increase in the price of petroleum products.
