The Bled Strategic Forum started in Slovenia on Wednesday, and two of Bosnia’s three Presidency members are participating, while Serb member Milorad Dodik refused to go, partly because the new High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, will also be there.

The Forum kicked off with a speech by the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, followed by Slovenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Anze Logar, the European Council President, Charles Michel, and Slovenia’s PM, Janez Jansa.

Among the participants are Bosniak Presidency member, Sefik Dzaferovic, and Croat member of the tripartite institution, Zeljko Komsic, who will speak at the ‘Leaders’ Panel – Future of Europe – Enlargement.’

They will also meet with Slovenia’s President, Borut Pahor.

Serb BiH Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, previously said he will not participate. Part of the reason for his decision is that the new High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, is participating, and Dodik argued that his appointment to the post is illegitimate.
