Erdogan objects High Representative's interventions in Bosnia's Election Law

Answering to N1 reporter Adisa Imamovic, Erdogan said that such decision would go against democratic principles.

“The decisions regarding the Election Law should be passed by the leaders and we do not need the High Representative's intervention,” he said.

Speaking about his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina within the Balkan tour, Erdogan noted that this leg of the visit is particularly improtant because it is taking place on the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The relations between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina are at an exceptional level. Political, military and economic relations as well as our cultural ties are very important. I discussed with my esteemed colleagues the improvement of the relations,” he stressed.

Erdogan said that the general elections will take place on October 2 and that this is what makes this visit exceptionally important. He also emphasised the necessity of transparency of the election process, expressing hope that the election results will “go in favour of BiH.”

“I repeat that Turkey is ready to give its best so that the current problems in BiH are overcome,” he underlined.

Turkish President also announced the improvements of bilateral trade and increasing of investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
