Head of the Military Unit at the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO in Brussels, Brigadier General Edin Fako met Commander of the European Union Operation Althea, Colonel General Brice Houdet - also the Deputy Chief of the Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), who stressed the importance of peace and stability in the region and BiH, in light of the ongoing developments in Ukraine.

The meeting was held on Wednesday in Mons, Belgium.

He pointed out that as the operational manager of the EU operation ‘Althea’ in BiH, he is very determined to engage the capacities of EUFOR to prevent “any attempts of possible actions that would lead to instability in BiH.”

On behalf of the Minister of Defense of BiH and the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Brigadier Fako thanked the Operation Althea Commander, Colonel General Houdet, for his support of 10 million euros for the demining battalion of the BiH Armed Forces.

In addition, on behalf of the Minister of Defense of BiH, Brigadier Fako invited Houdet to visit defense institutions in BiH, said the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
