The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Johann Sattler, congratulated the newly elected Mayor of the southern city of Mostar, Mario Kordic, and the new leadership of the City Council on Monday.
“Congratulations to the newly elected Mayor of Mostar and the leadership of the City Council. This is an opportunity to turn a page and work constructively with all 34 councillors to markedly improve the functioning of the city & meet the expectations of its citizens,” Sattler tweeted.
Kordic, a member of Bosnia’s Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), was elected in the third round of the mayoral vote in Mostar with a majority of 17 votes. His opponent from the Coalition for Mostar, Zlatko Guzin, got 16 votes. Two votes were invalid.
