A funeral prayer was held at the cemetery of the Srebrenica Memorial Center – Potocari and the burial was carried out Monday for 50 victims of the genocide committed in the summer of 1995 in the area of Srebrenica.
The funeral prayer in Potocari was led by the Grand Mufti of the Islamic community in BiH, Husein Kavazovic.
“On this day, July 11, gathered at this cemetery, we stand before you, aware of the gravity of the crime committed by evil people. We express our grief for our loved ones, and our sorrow to you, our Lord, who hears everything, sees everything and knows everything. Please comfort our souls and give us hope. This is a day of sadness and excessive pain, a day in which you hear cries, sighs and prayers from our sorrow-bound souls and hearts. May our debt of faith be filled with the constant remembrance of this planetary evil that was done to our people and may it awaken in us the strength and determination to oppose it and defeat it in the future. We invite our neighbours to join us in this, to share with us the immense sadness and pain we feel. We invite them to participate together with us in the discovery of graves, the memory and remembrance of innocently murdered neighbours, people, men, women and children whom they knew and lived with,” said Kavazovic.
