Bosnia and Herzegovina is the fact and those who do not understand it should know it is a state and that its integrity is secured, said former president of Croatia Stjepan Mesic, adding that all those who believe they can maneuvre something they did not manage in the war “are wrong.” Mesic stressed that the West must make it clear.

Mesic said that the West i.e. the European Union and the USA are not sufficiently present and retain some processes that should have been “in the past long time ago.”

“The wars are over and it is necessary to build a society and the state. However, the war is still waged with words and the country's survival is being brought into the question,” said Mesic, adding that the West is to blame for not sending “a more resolute message that nothing can or is allowed to happen with that.”

According to Mesic, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina should get support of his own state (Germany) then the EU and the US.

“If that happens, then a lot more can be done,” he stressed, referring to Christian Schmidt, the international community's peace envoy in BiH who has special powers to impose laws and dismiss officials.
