Bosnia’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic once again asked BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija to schedule a session by Friday, July 8, at which a decision would be made to declare July 11 as the Day of Mourning in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina – on the occasion of commemorating the Day of Remembrance to the Srebrenica genocide.

Chairman Tegeltija, who refused to place the decision on the agenda of the last BiH Council of Ministers’ session, was sent three urgent calls with the same request, but the decision was not submitted on the agenda.

In the meantime, another telephone session was scheduled for Tuesday, yet again the proposal was not included, which indicates a deliberate blocking of this proposal, Turkovic said.

“I remind you, once again, that the genocide in Srebrenica is a judicially proven and confirmed fact, and that by declaring the Day of Mourning, the Council of Ministers would show elementary respect for the victims and members of the victims’ families. Rejecting this proposal and denying those facts is proof of support for the perpetrators of genocide,” said Minister Turkovic.
