Former Chief Mufti of Serbia’s Islamic Community Muamer Zukorlic passed away

Zukorlic, born in 1970, was elected head of the Islamic Community of Sandzak the same year it was founded and held post until 2016. He was in 2007 elected head of the Islamic Community in Serbia.

In 2016, Zukorlic entered politics and became an MP in Serbia’s National Assembly.

He was also the President of the International University in Novi Pazar.

Zukorlic ran in the 2012 presidential elections and won 1.39 percent of the vote.
