In 2019, Scotland's Minister for Children and Youth, Maree Todd, spoke to N1 during her stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina and announced the introduction of the Srebrenica genocide into the history books. Today, children and young people in Scotland have the opportunity to learn about the worst atrocities on European soil after the Second World War.

Scots’ interest in events in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been growing in recent years with the continued work of delegates such as David Hamilton, Lorna Hood, Julie Adair and Maree Todd.

David Hamilton previously spoke for N1 about the importance of education about the genocide in Srebrenica and his experiences in wartime Bosnia and Herzegovina as a young humanitarian. Read his story here.
