According to Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, health workers in Bosnia’s Serb-majority Republika Srpska (RS) entity could soon get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Serbia.

Vucic said on Monday that he believes in the coming days “we will invite part by part medical workers from Republika Srpska to vaccinate them on the territory of Serbia because we do not have a permit to export vaccines, and we want to protect the RS population as much as possible.”

He said he would discuss the initiative with the Serbian Prime Minister and the members of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency.

Vucic also said that French President Emmanuel Macron told him that Serbia acted wisely when it comes to the procurement of COVID-10 vaccines.

“I don't know if we were wise, but we fought, worked, put an effort into it. Until we vaccinate 1,5 or two million people, I cannot say that we are nearing the end, and I will be satisfied only when we vaccinate three million people,” Vucic told Pink TV.
