Retired German figure skater Katarina Witt who rose to fame during the 1984 Sarajevo Olympic Games, where she won her first Olympic gold medal as an 18-year-old girl exactly 37 years ago, has symbolically reminded of this anniversary and shared memories with her fans.

Witt published on her Facebook black and white photos shot in 1984 at the Sarajevo Olympic Hall Zetra, where she performed at the age of 18 and took the gold medal, the first one in her career.

“February 18th at age 18 in 1984, only 37 years ago, I won my First Olympic Gold Medal in Sarajevo and jumped into a never expected ’round’ of gold medal series for quite a while,” said famous figure skater, who won another Olympic gold four years later in Calgary. She was also a four-time World Champion and two-time World silver medalist.
