Sarajevo and Novi Pazar are two historically linked cities, Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic said Monday during her visit to this south Serbian city where she met with Mayor Nihat Bisevac.
“The visit to Novi Pazar was an opportunity for a constructive conversation with fellow Mayor Nihat Bisevac on the topic of intensifying cooperation between the two cities and developing economic, tourist, cultural, educational and other relations in accordance with our traditional friendship,” Karic wrote after the meeting.
She stated that “Sarajevo and Novi Pazar are historically linked cities, they carry equal values that are connected by heritage, tradition and multiethnicity, and the joint friendship is confirmed by the establishment of partnership and twinning relations.”
“I used the opportunity to congratulate all Muslims in Novi Pazar, Sandzak and the whole of Serbia on the upcoming holiday, Eid al-Adha, with the most sincere wishes for prosperity and well-being,” Karic added.
