During her live reporting from the streets of Cetinje, Montenegro, the N1 crew and reporter Aleksandra Tolj-Ruzic was first pelted with stones, and in another, separate incident, a group of young men approached her, demanding that she delete the recordings, although she explained to them that she was on Facebook Live and that there was no recording.

Despite explaining to them that she was live on the air for N1’s Belgrade centre, the men continued to harass her, demanding that she deletes the non-existent video from her cellphone. The young man seen in the video was also the one who protected her after the situation escalated.

N1 television was observing the enthronement of the Montenegrin Metropolitan Joanikije as the Serbian Orthodox Church bishop for the area of Montenegro which was met with fierce opposition from the locals who, at one point, even clashed with the police in an attempt to prevent this from happening. The protestors carried banners, firearms as well as cold weapons and shouted “this is not Serbia.”

Prior to this incident, the same N1 crew was attacked earlier on Saturday when a group of men prevented them from recording the clash with the police, throwing rocks at the TV crew.

Despite the fact that she repeatedly said she worked on Facebook Live for the N1 Sarajevo portal and was only trying to broadcast the atmosphere from the streets since yesterday (Saturday), that she recorded the tear gas in the city centre, the men who surrounded her continued to insist on deleting the “video,” asking her “why she was so persistent,” and one of them added – “what if I took your phone”. Another man hit the phone, which can be seen in the video.

N1’s Aleksandra Tolj-Ruzic later said they poured water on her and that they even spat on her, pushing and throwing things at her. The police evacuated the N1 crew from Cetinje to safety.

The entire incident was recorded live during her reporting for N1 Belgrade’s New Day morning show.
