Director of the European External Action Service Angelina Eichhorst and US Special Envoy Matthew Palmer travelled to the southern town of Neum with political party leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss numerous issues, mainly electoral reform.

Eichhorst said the ongoing talks are producing results and that a 17-page document on electoral reform is being put together to address the issue.

Palmer explained that experts from the Venice and Warsaw Commissions are also participating in the talks.

The two officials met with members of both houses of Bosnia’s Parliament on Wednesday and with members of the Inter-Agency Working Group tasked with electoral reform on Thursday.

They stressed that electoral reform is key for overcoming the political crisis in Bosnia and strengthening the country’s institutional framework, urging politicians to reach a compromise.
