The first construction works at the location for the future Olympic swimming pool in Mostar should begin on Thursday, August 25, the StarMo portal has learned.
After the construction machines start cleaning and decorating the area early in the morning, the Prime Minister of Bosnia’s Federation entity, Fadil Novalic, will visit the location in the area of the South Camp, along with associates and representatives of the City of Mostar.
The FBIH government recently approved 8 million Bosnian marks (some €4 million) for the construction of an Olympic swimming pool, but this is not the total price, given that the project includes – apart from two indoor swimming pools – the construction of accompanying facilities, as well as a suitable hotel.
The StarMo news portal has exclusively published graphics of the future appearance of the indoor Olympic swimming pool in Mostar, the construction of which has been pending for decades.
The story about the construction of the Olympic swimming pool in Mostar gained momentum after the great results of the young Mostar swimmer Lana Pudar. StarMo learned that there are plans and ideas that, in addition to the Olympic pool, a special aqua-park will also be built some time in the future, on the other side of the Neretva, and the entire complex would be connected by a bridge across the river.
It is estimated that the construction of the Olympic swimming pool in Mostar could take about two years.
