Prices of new apartments in Bosnia go up almost by 50 percent

The average price of new apartments sold per square metre in the third quarter of 2022 in Bosnia and Herzegovina has reached 2,587 marks (approx (1,300 euro), which is by 41.5 percent higher than the average price in 2021 and 47.5 percent more than in the third quarter of that year.

According to Bosnian Statistics Agency, the number of new apartments sold in the third quarter of 2022 decreased by 13.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Compared to the number of new apartments sold in 2021, it decreased by 2.6 percent.

The surface area of new apartments sold in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the third quarter of 2021 is lower by 7.2 percent and compared to the average area of new apartments sold in 2021, it is lower by 0.5 percent. The Statistics Agency did not collect the data for the old apartments.

Real estate experts in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not optimistic when it comes to the drop of real estate prices in the country. A slight drop could happen in the next year, but according to forecasts, prices will not decrease significantly.
