Citizens have gathered on Sunday for a protest walk in downtown Sarajevo, organised by the Platform for Progress political party, to express their dissatisfaction with the overall situation in the country.

The citizens are carrying banners saying they want equal opportunities for young people and pensions, as opposed to social assistance.

“Donations are flowing through our veins”, “We are not tribes” and “And the diaspora is wondering” are just some of the banners that can be seen in the hands of citizens who gathered in the Bascarsija square.

The protest march is held under the motto “Let's call things by their real name”.

The leader of the Platform for Progress, Mirsad Hadzikadic, explained that the citizens “going out for a peaceful protest walk is necessary because no one else will fight for Bosnia and Herzegovina if they don’t do it.”

“The current situation in the country is caused by the actions of its political actors and the international community,” the party said.

Hadzikadic said that similar protests will also be held in Brussels and Geneva.
