The head of the Bosniak movement, Sejfudin Tokic, said Monday at the protests in front of the BiH Presidency building that "rest assured Bosnia will continue to exist long after Dodik and Covic."

“Ensuring the functionality of the state of BiH is inevitable and it’s unacceptable that the oligarchy of (BiH Serb Presidency member) Milorad Dodik and (leader of the strongest Croat party, the Croat Democratic Union – HDZ BiH)Dragan Covic, which are under the jurisdiction of pro-Russian politics and the Belgrade regime, it blocking the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the fate of these people here (the protesters) depends on those usurping the so-called interests of the Serb, Croat or Bosniak people. BiH state institutions can do much more. We are a state, and the state must react, and we do not agree with the logic ‘if Dodik does not want Bosnia and if Covic does not want Bosnia, then Bosnia will not exist.’ Rest assured, Bosnia exist long after they are gone – that is the message we must all send clearly. Bosnia is older, they are transient, they are nothing more than a second in the long history of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Sejfudin Tokic emphasized.

One of the organizers of the protest is Suad Djozic, who said that their most important request was for the Presidency to form a body for coordination of non-governmental organizations and in that way achieve real contact with citizens.

“According to the Constitution, they can do that, and we will demand that as our basic goal,” said Djozic.

“They must renounce immunity for hate speech in the media and explain how far they have come with the road to NATO, and we call on the Presidency to organize an international conference on human rights and civil liberties,” he added.
Djozic also noted that they expect a meeting at 1 pm with members of the Presidency of BiH, Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic.

He underlined that the general message and meaning of the protest is that they want a normal and functional state.
Today's protests called “Awakening of the Citizens” were the sixth in a row. They were previously held in front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the US Embassy, the EU Delegation, the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

The reason for the protest is the announced withdrawal of consent of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity for the formation of BiH armed forces, taxation authority, state-level judiciary as well as the non-implementation of international court verdicts in the field of Bosnia's election law where it was proven that not all citizens have the right to run for offices, while others have an exclusive right to elect and be elected.
