Protests in front of US Embassy in Sarajevo announced for Monday

A group of citizens who protested a few days ago in front of the Office of the High Representative in BiH building scheduled new protests for Monday - this time across from the US Embassy in Sarajevo.

The protests will be held on Monday, November 1, starting at 10 am. Organizer Suad Djozic said he would continue with these protests and that they will make the following requests in front of the US Embassy:

  1. We, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, believe in the friendship with the United States and look forward to President Biden's assistance in preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is currently under open institutional attack, including the threat of force;
  2. We ask that you send experts who will ask the institutions to protect the human and/or other rights of citizens, and not to trade with political leaders who do not recognize the judgments of international courts (International Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights, International Criminal Court for former Yugoslavia, etc…)
  3. We demand that the change to the International Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina not be partial but substantial on the basis of clear principles that will include the values ​​we have had for centuries as a multi-cultural society.
  4. We welcome the Principles for Amending the Constitution of BiH developed by the non-governmental organizations VKBI, HNV, SGV and the Forum of BiH Parliamentarians and we demand the same rights and the same responsibility for every citizen of BiH.
  5. The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina shall not allow the change of the constitutional order by force.

This group of citizens also protested in front of the Office of the High Representative last week demanding concrete actions against announcements by Republika Srpska entity government of abolishing state laws and pulling out of major BiH institutions, such as the Armed Forces, the taxation authority and others.
