Serbian state television RTS said that Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Zbanic's claim that she was told RTS has to consult President Aleksandar Vucic about airing of her film 'Quo vadis, Aida?', "would be considered a disinformation" until she says who was the person on RTS that told her so.

The statement comes in response to Zbanic who told an event in Novi Sad via video link that she was “unofficially told” in talks on potential airing of her film ‘Quo Vadis, Aida?’ on the Serbian state television RTS that they previously have to consult President Aleksandar Vucic on that, which she assessed as “incomprehensible.”

RTS pointed out that it was easy to prove that the filmmaker never talked about airing of her film on RTS with the editor of the film programme, the programme director or the general director, and that they never talked about the film with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The statement added that neither Zbanic nor Vucic are deciding on showing of the film on RTS.

“Finally, let's add in a way we might be flattered by such pressure of the director to air ‘Aida’. Sometimes it seems she made the film just to have it on RTS,” RTS said.
