Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin responded to BiH Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic, who called on the Serbian President to distance himself from Vulin's statements regarding "the unification of the Serb world". "If you do not immediately distance yourself from the statements of Dzaferovic and Izetbegovic who would recognize so-called Kosovo, I will consider that you support the division of Serbia and that you want to secede a part of my country," Vulin told Turkovic on Monday.

“My ideas and my statements are my own. [Serbian President] Aleksandar Vucic and I do not always share the same opinion on every issue, and if you have a question about my views, send it to me, you will get a loud answer that you can understand. In order to enter into a discussion with Vucic, you will still have to find his statements and try to dispute them, but before that, first tell us who tried to kill Aleksandar Vucic in Srebrenica and why are there no names of perpetrators and those who ordered it,” said Vulin, talking about the incident when Vucic was attacked in 2015 when he showed up for the commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide victims on July 11.

He pointed out that “Turkovic forgot to say how he said that Serbs would unite peacefully, without a single bullet fired when conditions are right.”

On Sunday, Serbian minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the task of this generation of politicians is to create a “Serb world” – to unify Serbs wherever they may live.

The Serb people “do not have the right to give up on unification” he said at an event marking the 13th anniversary of the Movement of Socialists.

Bosnia’s Foreign Minister, Bisera Turkovic, called on Vucic to distance himself from Vulin’s statements.

“If he does not do that, it will only confirm that his and Serbia's official policy is to overthrow the Dayton Peace Agreement and that it aims to annex parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Serbia,” Turkovic said, adding that Vulin's statement in which he said that the unification of Serbs means a “single state” represents a “flagrant violation” of the peace agreement that ended the war in BiH and that it leads to destabilization of the entire Western Balkans region as it represents “an ominous threat to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who defended themselves from aggression and genocide 26 years ago.”
