Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the construction of a memorial centre in Donja Gradina in northern Bosnia, on Friday, after the meeting with the Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porfirije on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the creation of Jasenovac concentration camp and the renovation of the Jasenovac monastery.

“Today we reached an agreement and I am transmitting [Bosnian Serb Presidency member Milorad] Dodik's confirmation, on the construction of something that should be an all-Serbian sanctuary in Donja Gradina,” Vucic said after a meeting with the Patriarch, which was also attended by the director of the Museum of Genocide Victims, Dejan Ristic.

Vucic added that he would try to open pavilions in the area of the Old Fair, which would be the best place for the Museum of Genocide Victims, and that an initiative would be submitted to name the left bank of the Sava the “Coast of Jasenovac Victims.”
