The Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves sent a letter to the Croatian President, Zoran Milanovic, telling him that his statements regarding the Srebrenica Genocide show that he is a “nationalist” and that he is not welcome in the eastern Bosnian town anymore.

“Mr. Milanovic, you were in shock when you came to Srebrenica in 2012 for the commemoration and funeral of the victims of the genocide, you could fathom that the genocide happened at the end of the 21st century, you could not believe that the human mind could have committed it, but you saw that it did,” the letter says.

The Srebrenica mothers stressed that “it is unfortunate” that Milanovic now insults the victims of genocide.

“The messages you are sending now in the 21st century when all civilization has condemned the genocide committed against the Bosniaks in Srebrenica, show that you are a nationalist and an immature politician in today's Europe,” they wrote.

The Srebrenica mothers pointed out that they have visited and paid their respects at all sites of atrocities in Croatia, “from Vukovar to Pakrac”, and that they sympathize with the victims of aggression against the country.

The letter comes after Milanovic denied the Srebrenica genocide during a working lunch of presidents of Western Balkan countries at the Brdo-Brijuni summit.
