Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with international peace envoy, High Representative Christian Schmidt within his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, reaffirming his country's support to the Office of the High Representative.

“I thank minister Cavusoglu for the friendly visit and good cooperation,” Schmidt said following the meeting.

Turkish diplomat assessed the meeting with Schmidt as very useful ahead of the official meetings he will have with the Bosnian senior officials on Saturday.

Turkiye has been supporting the Office of the High Representative since the beginning, he said, adding that this institution now plays a crucial role for the stability and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cavusoglu underlined that his country will continue providing support both to Schmidt and the OHR.

He is set to meet with his Bosnian counterpart Bisera Turkovic, the Bosniak and Croat Presidency members, Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic. Cavusoglu previously met with Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik, prior to his trip to St. Petersburg where he is attending the International Economic Forum.
