Two persons linked to 2016 death of Dzenan Memic handed to BiH Prosecution

Zijad Mutap and Hasan Dupovac were handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina after they were apprehended Monday in BiH special police operation on suspicion of obstructing the investigation into the death of Dzenan Memic, which took place in February 2016, the Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.

They were criminally processed by the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), where they were questioned as suspects for the criminal offence of “organized crime” in connection with the criminal offences of “illegal mediation” and “assistance to the perpetrator after a criminal offence”, the Prosecution said.

“The suspects were handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office Tuesday morning at around 8 am and will soon be questioned by the acting prosecutor,” the Prosecutor's Office spokesperson, Boris Grubesic confirmed.

Former Chief of Traffic Investigations of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior Hasan Dupovac and Zijad Mutap, father of Alisa Mutap who was with Dzenan Memic on the night he died, were apprehended Monday morning, while SIPA searched two facilities in Hadzici and Ilidza and seized items that could serve as evidence in the case.
