The project, supported by the British Government, aims to strengthen the capacity of the Srebrenica Memorial Center by training its staff, organizing exhibitions, research and networking. Thanks to this support, the Memorial Center will develop into a regional research centre of genocide, war crimes and transitional justice, and will be able to adequately store documents and objects that belonged to the victims.

So far, the project has shown the exhibition “Srebrenica: Our Story” which brings personal testimonies of 20 survivors of genocide, presented the Second Report on Genocide Denial for 2020-2021, and formed the Leadership Initiative for Srebrenica, which has already gathered 26 world leaders to oppose the genocide denial at the global level.

During the visit, Minister Morton noted that “the United Kingdom strongly supports efforts for establishing justice for all those killed, their families and survivors whose lives have been cruelly and irreversibly altered. We continue to support the region in overcoming the legacy of past conflicts to support long-term stability and a bright future for generations to come. To achieve this, we must continue to protect the truth and oppose all attempts to deny the genocide that took place in Srebrenica.”
