The government formation in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, election integrity reforms and state function must not be blocked and should proceed in parallel, US ambassador Eric Nelson said in a meeting with Dragan Covic, Bosnian Croat leader and Deputy Speaker of Bosnia Parliament’s upper chamber.

Nelson told Covic that “demonstrating seriousness on the EU path means dialogue and action on limited but meaningful improvements to the electoral process, judicial integrity, and rule of law,” according to the US Embassy’s official Twitter.

The leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) also confirmed on social networks he met the US envoy, with whom he discussed the “urgent need” to implement the changes to the Election Law concerning the City of Mostar, as one of the conditions for Bosnia’s EU membership.
