US ambassador to BiH Presidency: US remains Bosnia's partner

US Ambassador Eric Nelson met on Thursday with the three-member Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as Bosnia’s European road and current political developments in the country, according to the Presidency's statement.

The Presidency thanked the ambassador for the US contribution in stabilising the situation in BiH and for the support his country provided in process of Bosnia’s European integration, according to the statement issued following the meeting.

Speaking of the country’s European integration, the Presidency members, Sefik Dzaferovic, Milorad Dodik and Zeljko Komsic, expressed readiness towards the completion of 14 priorities outlined in the European Commission’s Opinion on Bosnia’s membership application.

They also discussed the improvement of economic cooperation between BiH and the USA, which is expected to be intensified through a memorandum of economic cooperation.

Ambassador tweeted that the meeting discussed “the power of joint action, consensus, mutual trust and pragmatism in taking steps necessary for economic recovery, restoring citizen confidence and meeting EU requirements.”

Covid-19 pandemic was also on the meeting agenda and the Presidency members informed Nelson about the efforts that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina put in an attempt to tackle the pandemic and about the activities in the procurement of the coronavirus vaccine.

Ambassador stressed the USA will continue acting as Bosnia’s partner in implementing all necessary reforms towards better life standard for citizens.
